Professional Training Workshop on
Strategic Transport Model using PTV VISUM
Dear Planner,
It is a pleasure to announce that Bangladesh Institute of Planners (BIP) is going to organize a professional training/workshop program on Strategic Transport Model using PTV VISUM on August 1 & 2, 2025 (Friday & Saturday) from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at BIP Secretariat.
Through this professional training the participants are expected to understand how to develop a model in VISUM including network development, matrix development, and assignment process. Calibration and validation process will be taught with global best practice. Participants will also be able to show the results of their model.
All the members of BIP are invited to register themselves for the training workshop. The course fee is BDT 3000/- (Three Thousand) only for each participant (Subject to up-to-date clearance of subscription dues). Other Processionals will also get the opportunity to participate by paying a course fee of BDT 5000/- (Five Thousand) only.

Planner Syed Waliullah, Transport Specialist will conduct this training as the resource person. Planner Syed Waliullah has extensive experience in transport modelling using VISUM for about 20 years, particularly in developing strategic transport models to support business cases and policy decisions. His work includes building and managing VISUM models for several local authorities in the UK, such as the Evesham Highway Model and the Pershore and Worcester Transport Models for Worcestershire County Council, Staffordshire County Council and Transport for the North. His experience is extended to support economic feasibility using TUBA and HDM4 using these model output.
Special Instruction: Participants must bring Laptop with them. Also expected to have some background knowledge in transport planning and traffic surveys, GIS and scripting.
